After browsing some of the artists on here asking for redlines I'm starting to see just how badly I need to work on my techniques.
I'm starting a sketch and unlike my usual work that I just draw, ink and call a toon without ever redoing, I want this one to be as accurate as possible. I have a feeling I am going to need a lot of help and critique if I want to get this piece up to the standard I am aiming for.
I would like to work on one character at a time because I want to get my archer right before I work on my melee lion.
The only thing I want to note is that my archer is a jaguarundi, so her arms and legs are supposed to be a bit short in proportion to the body.
I would greatly appreciate any and all help on this.

I listed most of the errors in the image, or the errors I saw anyway... but to recap:
Finger positions relative to the shaft is off.. check it out here and compare:

"Fingers" were also a tad to uniform and wonky.. watch out for that!
Ears were too tall/large for a jaguarundi, as shown in red line.
I think that covers it...
By the ways, this looks so fun and I love the tails!

Thanks, that helps a lot! Especially with the ears. I always have a hard time with them.
That's a great reference picture for correct archery hand positions too!

Appreciate it! I'm going to try and re-work my archer today and see how far I can get with my lion, so I'll probably be posting a second sketch for critique soon. I sure won't turn down any help. ^^

I'll try to redline this later but first: I am an archer. The hand holding the bow does not grip it. Instead the bow rests on the top of the hand and teh hand barely holds onto it. The tension of the string pulls the bow into the webbing between the thumb an forefinger and also keep it up.
When you draw a bow, you actually pull the end of the arrow up to thd corner of your jaw, below the ear, so the positioning of the arrow is a bit too low.

I have a longbow, but I haven't studied technique in depth, so I appreciate the advanced technique tips!
I actually brought the right arm up a bit this morning. ^^It's still probably just a bit too low, but I'm just going to cheat a little bit so that both forearms are parallel because to me it makes the pose feel a little more confident and powerful.
When I do use my bow I usually grip it just because I am clumsy and tend to drop it after I fire. X3
I think I might need some practice!

Ok, sorry for the poor scans. Same old story- scanner hates pencil sketches.
I've fixed some things on my archer and made an attempt on my lion. His hips are rotated so that his left leg is the one you see the most of. (with the idea that when he is within range to strike he can pivot and bring the right leg forward to add power to his thrust)
I know the legs, face, and the sword are seriously fubar'd but I'm just not sure where to go with them from here.
The clothing and weapons make no sense. A kilt, a medieval English shield, a longbow, and a gladius usually don't go together, but oh well. Kilts are sexy! X3

(Good grief, I must have scanned this thing 5 times today. I think seeing it in large scale helps because I keep noticing new things to fix.)

I don't really like the smaller head on my archer now. The shape is better, and the size is in proportion with human anatomy, but that's the problem. I want them to look more like ferals that stood up and started using tools and less anthropomorphized. I'm aiming for something like Meezer's cats. They still look pretty much like regular cats even though they're doing human things.
(forgive my rambling, I'm kind of talking to myself)

I'm an archer too, that is cool! Yes the anchoring kinda needs work, some people draw to the corner of their mouth too but jaw makes a better anchor as my coach told me.
Now scanning, you could trace it in pen on a separate sheet then it might show up better.
Also where is the lions other foot? Maybe it is just hidden but it seems like it should be there. Just thought I would mention that.

Yeah, the foot is mostly hidden as it is pretty far back, but I agree. I just don't think the position is right, but I'm not sure how to fix it.

I will try to redline this tomorrow- my tablet's not within easy reach. A couple things jump out at me- her (the archer) arms are two very different lengths. The outstretched arm is about the same length as the forearm of the one drawing the bow. You have good definition on her left leg (her left, our right), but the other leg is really mushy and looks like it's not really attached to her hip. Something that -may- help with that is rotating the knee joint to point towards where she's facing. Try standing that way yourself in front of a mirror to get an idea for what it looks like.
And I see you noticed that her head is a bit on the small side- Something that's making her head look smaller is how large her eye is in proportion to her body. Might want to try and make it a little smaller, that may help. Good luck! :)

Ok, re-sized the head to be more in fitting with feline anatomy than human, worked on the arm lengths, raised the arrow, and reworked all the legs-
